THIS SUNDAY Somerville Scoop Alert: The 2014 Somerville Dog Festival!

The crowd at last year’s festival.

RTP will once again be scooping our doggie fro-yo at Trum Field from 10:00AM til 3:00PM as part of the Somerville Dog Festival, a great event which raises money through donations for local animal organizations. Presented by The Somerville Foundation for Animals, a 501(c)3 charitable organization,  the festival is free and open to the public.

There will be demos in Urban Mushing, Treibball and K9 police tactics, as well as “Try-It” areas where you and your dog can work with trainers to get a taste of activities like Agility and Nosework. Is your dog more of a diva than an athlete? Enter them in the “Best Trick” contest or the “Dog/Owner Look-A-Like” contest! Combine all of this with jugglers, magicians, local vendors and an all-dog production of “The 3 Little Pigs,” and you’ve got a unique event for the whole family! For more info on this year’s festival, visit somdogfest.org .

Last year’s event drew THOUSANDS of attendees, so if your pup wants yogurt, get their early!

*NOTE: For safety, only well-mannered dogs on-leash (no flexi leads, please) and current on vaccinations are invited.

Join Team Running The Pack For The 8th Annual MSPCA Walk For Animals!

For the 6th year in a row, Running The Pack will be forming a team to participate in the MSPCA Walk For Animals. And for the 6th year, we need your help!

Team Running The Pack at last years MSPCA Walk For Animals in Boston

Team Running The Pack at last year's MSPCA Walk For Animals in Boston

Why is this event SO important to us?

At  Running the Pack, we have been blessed with the opportunity to work with many healthy, happy animals and their families, but not all animals are so lucky. We see our annual support of the Walk for Animals as an opportunity to physically demonstrate our dedication to animal welfare.

What does our participation support?

The incredible animal advocacy and good works performed at the MSPCA. This includes the animal protection division (shelters, law enforcement, advocacy) and veterinary medicine (Angell Animal Medical Center and MSPCA-Angell West). The MSPCA receives no funding from the government or any other national humane organizations, so it’s up to us to keep them going!

Joining Team Running The Pack is easy! First, click here to go to the MSPCA Walk For Animals – Boston page. Then:

  1. Select “join an existing team.”
  2. Search for “Running the Pack,”
  3. Click “Join,” and fill in your info!

Can’t make the actual event but still want to help out? You can join the team as a ‘Cat Napper’ and fundraise online!

We would LOVE to see our favorite client faces (Canine and human!) join Team Running The Pack and walk with us on September 7th to support this amazing organization and all they do.

Testimonials

Running The Pack walks my socially maladjusted dog twice a day M-F and they are fantastic.  She is not an easy dog to manage mainly because she doesn’t get along with other dogs.  I’ve tried many other walkers and Running The Pack has by far been the most accommodating and the most successful with her.
